The post “Sipping on Self-Love: My Journey through Dry January” appeared first on TYSAH.
]]>The holiday season tends to come with its fair share of cheers, toasts, and clinking glasses. I, too, found myself savoring a bit too much wine, beer, and brunch mimosas. Enter Dry January – a commitment to 31 days sans alcohol. Joined by friends and colleagues, the challenge felt both personal and communal.
The Journey: 28 Days Strong:
For 28 days, I embraced the alcohol-free lifestyle with surprising ease. It was a revelation: I discovered more willpower within me than I had thought possible. The support of friends on the same journey added an extra layer of support, making the challenge feel like a shared triumph.
A Detox for Body and Soul:
What started as a resolution turned out to be a form of self-love. The detox wasn’t just for my body it was also an opportunity to keep exploring my habits and how I take care of myself. Clear-headed and energized, I felt appreciation for the resilience of my body and its capacity for positive change.
Post-January Reflections: While I couldn’t refuse a good glass of wine while I traveled to Madrid on day 29, I embraced it without guilt. Now, I’ve reintroduced occasional indulgences, understanding that moderation is key. I’ve learned that periodic “dry” months can be important to reset my body and mind.
Closing Thoughts: Dry January taught me that self-love extends beyond the physical to the choices we make. As I continue my journey, I wonder, what other acts of self-love can I incorporate into my life? How do you show your body the love it deserves?
I also want to say, that in addition to doing this challenge with friends, an amazing tool that helped me track my progress, was this simple journal, like the ones that you can find at the TYSAH store

]]>The post Beyond Tradition: Valentine’s Day a self-love celebration appeared first on TYSAH.
]]>Valentine’s Day, often celebrated with the exchange of chocolates, flowers, and romantic gestures, can inadvertently create societal pressure to conform to traditional expressions of love. In this blog, we’ll explore a different perspective, a “TYSAH” perspective—one that encourages you to redirect that love toward the most important person in your life: yourself. Embracing self-love is not only an act of kindness to yourself but also a foundation for building healthier relationships with others.
Find below 6 strategies to make this Valentine’s Day a self-love celebration:
Valentine’s Day has become synonymous with outward expressions of love, putting immense pressure on individuals to find the perfect gift for their loved ones. This expectation can sometimes lead to feelings of inadequacy, loneliness, or even self-doubt. Be creative and gift other valuable things like quality time or a fun date without technology or prep a nice food for a loved one. If you will still go the traditional route of giving to others, make it meaningful and explore our store for options.
This year make Valentine’s Day a self-love celebration. Self-love is a transformative concept that often gets overshadowed during this love-centric season. Contrary to the misconception that self-love is selfish, it’s actually the cornerstone of a fulfilling life. By learning to appreciate and care for ourselves, we cultivate a reservoir of love that positively impacts all aspects of our lives.
Valentine’s Day doesn’t have to revolve around traditional gifts. Consider giving yourself the gift of self-care, whether it’s a TYSAH self-care box, a walk in nature, or indulging in your favorite hobby. These acts of self-love are the equivalent of flowers and chocolates—nourishing experiences that contribute to your well-being.
In the hustle and bustle of daily life, taking time for rest and relaxation is often overlooked and seen as lazy. Prioritize getting adequate sleep, allow yourself moments of downtime, and engage in activities that bring you joy. Recognize rest as an act of self-love, making sure that your body and mind are getting the rest they need.
Establishing and maintaining personal boundaries is a powerful way to show love and respect to yourself. Understand your limits and communicate them effectively to others. By doing so, you create a space that prioritizes your well-being, creating a healthier relationship with yourself and others.
While the idea of physically hugging oneself might seem unconventional, it holds significant psychological benefits. Embracing yourself, either metaphorically or physically, can be a powerful gesture of self-compassion. It symbolizes acknowledging your worth and the love you deserve.
In wrapping up this exploration of Valentine’s Day a self-love celebration, remember that, celebrating yourself is an ongoing journey, not a one-time event. By embracing self-love, you are ensuring a fulfilling relationship with yourself and also laying the foundation for more meaningful connections with others. This Valentine’s Day, let the love you extend to yourself be the most enduring and profound.
For TYSAH to be an active movement, I invite you to share your thoughts and practices on self-love to create a space for a positive dialogue, inspiring each other to prioritize our well-being celebrate the love we deserve, and make Valentine’s Day a self-love celebration

]]>“Heal yourself with the light of the sun and the rays of the moon. With the sound of the river and the waterfall. With the swaying of the sea and the fluttering of birds.
Heal yourself with mint, neem, and eucalyptus. Sweeten with lavender, rosemary, and chamomile. Hug yourself with cocoa bean and a hint of cinnamon. Put love in tea instead of sugar and drink it looking at the stars.
Heal yourself with the kisses the wind gives you and the hugs of the rain. Stand strong with your bare feet on the ground and with everything that comes from it. Be smarter every day by listening to your intuition, looking at the world with your forehead.
Jump, dance, sing, so that you live happier. Heal yourself, with beautiful love and always remember… You are the medicine.” — Maria Sabina, Mexican healer and poet.
Maria Sabina’s poetic words serve as a gentle reminder that the elements surrounding us can be potent sources of healing. Nature, with its sun, moon, rivers, and waterfalls, holds the key to rejuvenation. The medicinal properties of herbs like mint, neem, and eucalyptus, combined with the soothing essence of lavender, rosemary, and chamomile, present a natural pharmacy for our well-being. You can find at www.tysah.com a natural fragrance oil and a natural soap with oatmeal that can serve this purpose.
The act of self-hugging with cocoa bean and a touch of cinnamon symbolizes the importance of self-love and warmth. For some warmth, get the dark chocolate from Ecuador we have available at www.tysah.com Choosing love over bitterness, as suggested by replacing sugar with love in our tea, encourages a positive mindset, especially when gazing at the stars, offering a moment of tranquility and self-reflection.
Embracing the elements, from the wind’s kisses to the rain’s hugs, symbolizes connecting with the world around us. Grounding ourselves with bare feet on the earth allows us to absorb its energy, promoting physical and mental balance. Maria Sabina encourages us to listen to our intuition, viewing the world with our forehead, indicating a deeper, mindful understanding of our surroundings.
Jump, dance, sing—these simple yet profound actions are the keys to unlocking a happier life. By actively participating in joyful activities, we invite positivity and light into our existence. Maria Sabina’s message is clear: life is meant to be lived fully and joyously.
In the symphony of life, self-healing is the melody that allows us to harmonize with the world around us. TYSAH is a call to action, an invitation to prioritize self-care and embrace the healing power within. As Maria Sabina eloquently puts it, “You are the medicine.”
So, let’s embark on this journey of self-discovery, treating ourselves with love, and allowing the healing process to unfold.

]]>Starting a journaling practice can be a wonderful journey of self-discovery and reflection. Journaling is more than just putting pen to paper; it’s a voyage into the depths of your thoughts and emotions, offering a pathway to self-discovery and personal growth. At TYSAH we have recently launched a downloadable journal with prompts that will lead to discovery and self-reflection, you can get it for only $11.11 at www.tysah.com. Whether you use our TYSAH journal or other prompts or format, here are four suggestions to help you start your journaling adventure:
Choosing the optimal time to journal can make a significant difference in the effectiveness of your practice. Some people find solace in the early morning, allowing them to set intentions for the day ahead. Others prefer unwinding with their thoughts in the evening, reflecting on the events that transpired. Experiment with different times to discover what works best for you. Whether it’s a quiet Sunday afternoon or a brisk Monday morning, find the time that aligns with your schedule and energy levels.
Journaling is a safe space for authenticity. Embrace the power of vulnerability by allowing yourself to express your true thoughts and feelings. Don’t shy away from the full spectrum of emotions, including the ones that may seem uncomfortable or challenging. The pages of your journal are a judgment-free zone, providing an opportunity for self-reflection and emotional release. Remember, the more honest you are with yourself on paper, the deeper your understanding of your inner world will become.
Journaling may uncover emotions and memories that have been tucked away. Be prepared for triggers that may arise as you delve into your thoughts. If certain topics bring up difficult feelings, consider seeking support from friends, family, or professionals. Healing is a process, and journaling can be a powerful tool on that journey. Don’t hesitate to share your experiences with those you trust or explore additional therapeutic avenues to aid in your emotional well-being.
Your journal is a canvas for creativity. Experiment with various writing styles, doodles, or even incorporate mixed media to make your entries visually appealing. Use prompts to inspire your writing and explore new emotions and perspectives. Let your journaling practice evolve with you; there are no rules or limitations. The more creative and open-minded you are, the richer your journaling experience will become.
Embark on your journaling journey with an open heart and a curious mind. Your journal is a reflection of your inner world, a companion on the path to self-discovery. Embrace the process, and watch as the pages unfold to reveal the depth and beauty within you.
Happy journaling!

]]>The post In November say “NO” to… appeared first on TYSAH.
]]>At TYSAH, we’re committed to promoting self-care and wellness as essential components of your healing journey. In the spirit of prioritizing your well-being, we’re sharing valuable advice this month on what to say NO to, so that you can say YES to other activities instead that will support your healing journey. By embracing these self-care principles, you can reduce stress and improve your overall health. Let’s dive into four essential “Say NO to…” practices that will empower you to treat yourself with kindness and embrace well-being.
You’ve probably heard it before, but it’s worth repeating: adequate sleep is the foundation of a healthy and balanced life. Say NO to sleep deprivation, and make it a priority to get the recommended amount of sleep each night. A well-rested body and mind are more resilient, less stressed, and better equipped to tackle life’s challenges. Implement a sleep routine, create a calming bedtime ritual, and invest in a comfortable mattress and pillows. Your future self will thank you for your improved focus, mood, and overall well-being. Something that always helps me to sleep well and avoid sleep deprivation is to take a shower and create a ritual, you can use certain TYSAH tools to do so, such as: natural soap bars, essential oils and candles. You can get them individually at www.tysah.com or as part of a Build-A-Box for Any Occasion here.
Saying NO to overcommitting is saying YES to self-care. It’s time to set healthy boundaries that allow you to balance work, family, and personal time. Overloading your schedule can lead to stress, exhaustion, and burnout. Prioritize your well-being by making time for relaxation, hobbies, and leisure activities. A balanced life is a more fulfilled life. Start by decluttering your schedule, leaving space for self-care, and discovering the joy of free time.
Negative self-talk can be detrimental to your well-being. Say NO to self-criticism and self-doubt by embracing self-compassion. Treat yourself with the kindness and understanding you deserve. Challenge negative thoughts and replace them with affirmations of self-love. As you nurture a positive self-image, you’ll find inner peace and improved emotional well-being. Remember, you are your own best friend, and it’s time to speak to yourself with the same kindness you’d offer to a friend.
Need support? Our TYSAH Affirmation Cards are an amazing tool to avoid negative self-talk, you can get your deck here.
Skipping meals is a self-care no-no. Say NO to neglecting your physical health by prioritizing balanced nutrition, regular meals, and staying hydrated. Your body and mind require proper nourishment to function optimally. Make time for well-balanced meals, hydrate with plenty of water, and treat yourself to nutritious snacks. By honoring your body’s needs, you’ll enjoy increased energy, better concentration, and a happier, healthier you. Write down your favorite meals in a journal so that you can keep track or your favorite and easy recipes. Check our hand-painted journal by a Salvadoran artist at www.tysah.com
Carry all your groceries in our eco-friendly jute bags and fill your fridge with fresh fruits and veggies.
In our TYSAH community, self-care and wellness are the cornerstones of a healing journey. Remember that saying NO to these wellness saboteurs is saying YES to a life filled with inner peace, balance, and contentment. Embrace these “Say NO to…” practices, and watch your well-being flourish. Treat yourself with the kindness and care you deserve.

]]>The boundaries you set are essential for your mental health. Without them, you risk overextending yourself, which can lead to stress and burnout. Set clear boundaries in your personal and professional life. Remember, it’s okay to say ‘no’ when necessary.
Sleep is your body’s way of recharging. Depriving yourself of sleep can result in fatigue, increased stress, and mood disturbances. Make sure you prioritize a good night’s rest. Your body and mind will thank you.
Constantly striving to please everyone can be a one-way ticket to mental exhaustion. It’s vital to balance your own needs and priorities. Remember, taking care of yourself should be a priority, too.
Bottling up your emotions can be detrimental to your mental health. It’s crucial to acknowledge and express your feelings. Don’t be afraid to share your thoughts with trusted friends or a therapist. Processing your emotions is a sign of strength, not weakness.

]]>The post Embracing Transitions: Healing, Self-Care, and Wellness Are Essential! appeared first on TYSAH.
]]>“Life is a series of natural and spontaneous changes. Don’t resist them; that only creates sorrow. Let reality be reality. Let things flow naturally forward in whatever way they like.”
Lao Tzu
As a mother of a child starting school, I’m dealing with new schedules, routines, and routes to avoid traffic. On top of that, I’m adjusting to a new job, finding my way back to my professional self, and striving to prioritize both my career and my well-being. It’s a lot to handle, but I’m not alone in this journey.
Here are some essential tips that have helped me navigate these transitions while ensuring I continue to prioritize my healing, self-care, and wellness:
It’s easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of life’s transitions, but I make sure to take care of myself. I’ve made self-care a non-negotiable part of my routine. Even if it’s just a few minutes each day, I find time to do something that brings me joy and relaxation. Whether it’s a quick meditation session, a soothing bath, or a few pages of a good book, these small acts of self-care have a significant impact on my mental well-being. I love taking long showers, these soaps available at TYSAH have been an amazing new tool for my routine.
With so many changes happening around me, maintaining some consistency in my daily routines provides a sense of stability and comfort. I continue practicing the routines that have supported my mental health and overall well-being. If going to the gym, taking a nap, or reading a book were part of my self-care regimen, I don’t give them up entirely. I adjust my schedule to accommodate these practices, even if it means carving out pockets of time during my day. With the gym for example, instead of quitting entirely, I have found that I even if I go twice a week it helps me stay sane.
I don’t hesitate to lean on my support network. Whether it’s my partner, family, or friends, I let them know what I’m going through and ask for help when needed. I delegate tasks and responsibilities when possible, so I can free up some time for myself. Asking for support is a sign of strength, not weakness.
Transitions can be challenging, but they also offer opportunities for growth and new experiences. I embrace change with an open mind and a positive attitude. Instead of dwelling on the challenges, I focus on the possibilities that lie ahead. My child’s new school, and my new job, dictate a new schedule, for example, instead of complaining about having to wait for about 40 minutes in the car, I’m using that time with excitement to read a book, listen to a podcast and even taking a quick nap. I will soon share another blog and will add to the TYSAH Resources page all the audiobooks and podcasts that are supporting me in the new routine.
Periodically, I take time to reflect on how I’m handling the transitions. Are there aspects of my life that need adjustment? Am I giving enough attention to my self-care and well-being? I remember that it’s okay to recalibrate and make changes as needed to find balance and peace in this new chapter of my life.
In the midst of these transitions, I remember that healing, self-care, and wellness are not optional luxuries; they are essential for my overall happiness and ability to navigate life’s challenges. I embrace change as an opportunity for growth, and I hold onto the practices and routines that bring me peace and clarity. I’ve got this!
